Invisalign First treatment can straighten teeth and also allow for Phase 2 treatment to be shorter in duration. Dr. Karim monitors the development of teeth and jaws to choose the optimal time for orthodontic treatment. Removable aligners promote better oral hygiene, letting children maintain good brushing and flossing techniques while still correcting their orthodontic needs.
INVISALIGN TEEN
Invisalign Teen is clear orthodontic aligner therapy designed to address the orthodontic concerns of non-adult patients. Since aligners are removable, patients can continue to enjoy their favourite foods and drinks, as well as brush and floss normally to help keep teeth and gums healthy. We offer Virtual Care to keep you and your teen connected with our office to track their progress or answer any questions that you have about your Invisalign journey. INVISALIGN ADULT
Adult aligner therapy is offered to transform your smile for aesthetics but also for function. Dr. Karim will prepare a detailed digital treatment plan to gradually and predictably move your teeth into the ideal position. Aligners are nearly invisible, so you can straighten your teeth without it being too noticeable. As there are no wires or brackets, aligners offer a comfortable experience where fewer appointments in the office are necessary. We offer Virtual Care to monitor your progress and answer any questions that may arise.
BRACES
METAL BRACES
We offer Master Series metal stainless steel braces, which are smaller and more comfortable due to their low profile. They have more appeal than other brands because of the unique design and leading edge features that help keep your orthodontist's treatment goals in mind. A wide range of colour choices in ligature ties will allow you to have a little fun showing off your braces!
CHAMPAGNE BRACES
Champagne coloured braces truly offer the best of both worlds - the durability of stainless steel and the aesthetics to blend into the natural shade of the tooth. A unique proprietary process ensures these Iconix braces will stay champagne for the duration of treatment. CERAMIC BRACES
The main advantage of clear braces is their aesthetic and cosmetic appeal. Radiance clear braces are made from ceramic alloys or plastic polymers which offers exceptional clarity and transparency. They have a great following, especially among adults who want to align their teeth and correct their bites without drawing too much attention. The design of the bracket is comfortable and we offer clear or pearl ligature ties so they blend in perfectly.
SURGICAL ORTHODONTICS
OVERBITE
When the lower jaw is far back of the upper jaw, braces or Invisalign can be used to align the teeth and then the oral and maxillofacial surgeon will do lower jaw surgery and move the lower jaw forward to correct the bite.
UNDERBITE
When the lower jaw is far ahead of the upper jaw, braces or Invisalign can be used to align the teeth and then the oral and maxillofacial surgeon either moves the upper jaw ahead or the lower jaw forward (sometimes a combination of both).
OPEN BITE
An open bite is when the upper and lower jaws don't meet and there is a severe gap between the teeth. Braces or Invisalign can be used to align the teeth and then the oral and maxillofacial surgeon does jaw surgery to rotate either one or both of the jaws to allow the bite to close.
